During the 2 weeks leading up to the 28th, I had 3 sessions with girls that study at the Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Charitable, a Computer & Education centre in Saket. These sessions were quintessential because our first drive was held in the same Gurudwara polyclinic (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Charitable Polyclinic)

In each of the 3 sessions, I met with 40 girls for about an hour. What was interesting to me this time was the fact that the ages of the women ranged from 14-35. So, there were a lot of different thoughts and views that were shared. Interestingly, a couple of the girls were biology students who went into extreme detail about the uterus, diseases like PCOD, and birth control which left me and the other girls in the room stunned. But, it encouraged a lot of girls to ask questions and created an environment in which the other girls knew who to ask if they were ever in need of support or had doubts. Every time I met the girls, I tried to reinforce the importance of being open to conversations surrounding women’s health and hygiene.
Towards the end of the sessions, I introduced Jagriti’s Cervical Cancer Vaccine Drive and the benefits of taking the vaccine. We handed out flyers and consent forms to all of them and were so happy to receive such a positive response!
