Education, Empowerment, and Equality

Our Founder

Hey there! My name is Asaavari and I’m 17 years old. I can say with surety that I have never felt the lack of anything in my life for which I am extremely grateful. Growing up in the UK and now in Delhi’s ‘high society’, no one in my immediate circle has ever needed to fight for basic necessities, like sanitary napkins, the cervical cancer vaccine or the right to information- I’ve always known that this isn’t the case for everyone.
I’ve also always known that I wanted to play a role in giving everyone the opportunities that I did nothing special to receive. So, I founded the Jagriti Program in an attempt to even the playing field, giving young girls the knowledge and opportunities that life hasn’t provided them, and creating an environment in which young boys break the intergenerational stigma of menstruation and the female body, in hopes for a brighter future.

Reducing stigmatisation and improving health outcomes through a three-pronged approach: multilingual module-based education, community sessions, and small-group workshops promoting a culture of acceptance and empowerment.

Our Vision at the Jagriti Program is to create a world where every woman has access to comprehensive education on menstrual health, biology, and sexual reproductive health and is also able to protect themselves from various fatal diseases related to Women's Health.
