Shortly after our vaccine drive, I visited a group of wonderful women that live in a settlement in Chanakyapuri. The session was filled with jokes and laughter and what made me the happiest was that the ladies came with their young children. The ladies ranged from 15-70 and they were all so receptive towards the new information. Chatting with them under the shade of a big tree made the session so special because I felt like I got the chance to truly connect with them and understand their needs and requirements.
I think one learning for me from the session was that it’s so important to listen and understand perspectives because we might assume that these women know very little about their bodies just because of their economic status, but you’d be pleasantly surprised! All of them knew how a Menstrual cup worked thanks to youtube!
