Welcome to The JAGRITI Program!

Jagriti’s main objective is to educate women, girls and boys about Menstrual Health, Biology, and Sexual & Reproductive Health, thus working towards reducing societal stigmatisation. The Jagriti Program aims to embody the stepping stone that society requires to become more accepting and conscientious of the issues that exist for women and the government schemes that exist to help them. We also wish to draw attention to the illnesses and poor hygiene practices that are rampant in rural areas, that cause problems including female school drop-outs. We focus on problems like PCOD, Cervical Cancer, Menstrual cycles, Common myths and much more, in order to counter pre-existing societal notions.

Let’s make a difference today!

Our Projects

AAS PAAS

The term “Aas-Paas” is a hindi phrase that translates to nearby us. Our “Aas-Paas” sessions in neighbourhoods, aim to start creating an impact at home. We DO this through Cervical cancer vaccine drives, starting in Vasant Vihar along with Runs for Menstrual Health. We believe that making a change starts in places closest to us, a place like home. We hope that our upcoming Vasant Vihar drive will act as a template for future neighbourhood awareness camps and sessions.

Awareness Sessions

We have awareness sessions with girls, boys and women too where we discuss menstruation, the female body and also hold workshops to desensitise them towards hygiene and sanitation products as well as the correct way to use such products.

Modules

Creating a multilingual module-based learning scheme which has a curriculum vetted by leading doctors in their respective fields allows us to have a larger reach. These modules are permanent sources of learning and information for underprivileged communities amongst rural populations and people-centric NGOs. The modules are followed up with QnA sessions, games and physical awareness activities to make sure no doubts are left brewing in adolescents’ minds.

JAGRITI-REHNUMAS

As a part of the flagship program, in order to ensure continuity of access and scalability- each time Jagriti has sessions in NGOs, villages or schools, we appoint Jagrit- Rehnumas (our version of ambassadors), that will keep the program running in their respective zones.
